Provisions on the use and implementation of criteria for the recognition of knowledge and skills acquired prior to enrolment in the programme

In the process of 1st cycle education, the student may be granted recognition of knowledge that is equivalent in content and scope to the teaching content of subjects included in the 1st cycle academic study programme in Electrical Engineering. Recognition of knowledge and skills acquired prior to enrolment shall be determined by the FEE Undergraduate Study Committee on the basis of the student’s written application supported by certificates and other documents demonstrating the successful acquisition of knowledge and the content of such knowledge, and in accordance with the rules stipulating the procedure and criteria for the recognition of non-formal learning and skills, adopted at the UL Senate session of 29 May 2007. If the FEE Undergraduate Study Committee finds that the acquired knowledge is, in terms of the level and scope of credit points, equivalent to or in excess of the knowledge acquired in a subject included in the 1st cycle academic study programme in Electrical Engineering, the knowledge and skills thus acquired shall be considered as a completed study component in the relevant subject.

Progression to the next year of study

A student in the 1st cycle academic study programme in Electrical Engineering is granted enrolment in Year 2 after having completed Year 1 components worth at least 54 credits (ECTS) prior to the deadline for enrolment.

A student in the 1st cycle academic study programme in Electrical Engineering is granted enrolment in Year 3 after having completed all Year 1 components (60 credits) and Year 2 components worth at least 54 credits (ECTS) prior to the deadline for enrolment.

For repeat enrolment in Year 2, a student in the 1st cycle academic study programme in Electrical Engineering must have completed all Year 1 components (worth 60 credits) as well as Year 2 components worth at least 30 credits (ECTS).

Transferring between study programmes

In accordance with the currently valid Criteria for transferring between study programmes, transferring between study programmes includes termination of a student's education in a study programme that they enrolled, and continuation of education in a first-cycle university study programme of Electrical engineering. The transfer is possible in accordance with the currently valid Criteria for transferring between study programmes.

The transfer is possible between study programmes:

1.            that guarantee the acquisition of comparable competences at the end of the study and

2.            between which at least one-half of the obligations under the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) from the original study programme can be accepted according to the acceptance criteria, concerning the compulsory courses of the second study programme.

Requests by the candidates to transfer to first-cycle university study programme of Electrical engineering will be handled individually by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Board for study affairs in accordance with the University of Ljubljana Statute. Based on study obligations, the Board declares the conditions for the continuation of the studies and the year the candidate may enrol and issues the decision. Based on a reasoned proposal of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Board for study affairs, the proposals will be assessed by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Senate.

When transferring from another study programme, the candidate must enclose a certificate of completed study obligations on the study they were enrolled, valid course syllabuses for the courses and other matters where the study obligations were fulfilled and a certificate on meeting the enrolment conditions in accordance with the Higher education act and the enrolment conditions stated in the first-cycle university study programme of Electrical engineering.
